The word which will be equal to an emoji will turn into an orangey red colour. You just have to tap on the emoji you want, and it will be included in your message. 
 
Display Videos & Images in Messages: Earlier when someone shared a link in iMessage the recipient use to get a clickable link but now in the new iMessage app, the recipients will get the full image or video of the link which you will be sending. The receiver can instantly view or playback these multi-media messages. In case, the video or image is a part of any article then the recipient can just click to read it. 
 
Rise to Wake: In the previous versions of iOS you have to unlock the screen to read the notifications. But in iOS 10 you just have to lift the phone and have notifications on display. You can activate this feature by going to Settings-> Display & Brightness-> Raise to Wake. This feature is only available on the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7 and 7 Plus as older phones lack the motion co-processor to make this happen.
